Chicago Official Indicted

CHICAGO — A federal grand jury indicted a City Council member on charges of extortion and lying to the FBI in a wide-ranging investigation of corruption among Chicago area officials. Rafael Frias, 36, on Tuesday became the fourth Chicago City Council member and the 11th person indicted over the last 16 months in the government’s Operation Silver Shovel.
