Motorcycle Crash Kills 1, Injures 1
One man is dead and another is in critical condition after the motorcycle they were riding smashed into a parked car in Ventura early Thursday morning.
The passenger, 36-year-old Ronald Cameron of Ventura, was killed in the the 2:30 a.m. accident on Olive Street in Ventura, authorities said.
Traffic investigators were unsure if Cameron was wearing a helmet. A helmet was found some distance away from the accident.
The driver, David Riley, 29, of Ventura, who was wearing a helmet, also suffered major head and internal injuries, a Ventura police spokesman said.
Police said Riley was intoxicated when he rammed the motorcycle into a car parked on Olive Street. He was listed in critical condition at Ventura County Medical Center, where officers arrested him for felony drunk driving, the spokesman said.
