Emulex Corp.: The Costa Mesa manufacturer of network access products and supplier of fiber channel technology posted net income of $1.1 million, or 18 cents a share, for the third fiscal quarter, contrasted with a net loss of $2.3 million, or 39 cents a share, for the like 1996 period. Revenue for the quarter ended March 30 increased 34% to $17 million from $12.7 million.

Profit for the nine-month period totaled $649,000, or 10 cents a share, which included a charge of $1.3 million related for consolidating operations in the first quarter. For the corresponding period of fiscal 1996, a net loss of $8.7 million, or $1.47 a share, was recorded. Revenue advanced 37% to $49 million from $35.8 million.
