Aviation Firm Moves
IRVINE — Aviation Distributors Inc. said Wednesday that it will move its headquarters from Irvine to a much larger facility in Lake Forest.
The 54-employee company, one of the larger buyers and sellers of new and used aircraft parts, agreed to lease 33,000 square feet on Bake Parkway. It will sell its current facility when it moves into the new building in November.
The need for more room, particularly warehouse space, was prompted by the company’s $6.7-million bulk purchase of parts from Quantas Airlines in Sydney, Australia. The parts, which will eventually be shipped to the Lake Forest facility, have a wholesale value of $38 million, said chief financial officer Mark W. Ashton. The company also expects to add several more salespeople, Ashton said.
