In another Orange Empire Conference game:

Cypress 14, Orange Coast 6--Randy Case was three for five with two home runs, a grand slam in the second and a solo shot in the fourth, and seven runs batted to lead Cypress (28-7-1, 11-5). The seven RBIs by Case is one short of the school record.

Riverside 14, Golden West 4--Jarrad Jones and Casey Flanigan each had two hits for Golden West (11-22, 3-13). Jake Beheny and Bobby Kielty each had three hits for Riverside (28-8, 9-7).

In men’s swimming at the Golden West Invitational:

Golden West wins 11 of 12 events--Albert Sutanto won the 200 and 500 freestyle (1:42.79 and 4:37.35), swam the second leg of the 800 freestyle relay, which won, and swam a 21.69 split on the anchor leg of the 200 freestyle relay, which won, to lead Golden West.

Jim Lowe spoiled a Golden West sweep by winning the 100 freestyle (50.04) for Saddleback.

In women’s swimming in the Golden West Invitational:

Golden West wins four of 11 events--Emily Hagen (Marina) won the 500 freestyle (5:41.23) and Lisa Saenz (Marina) won the 100 individual medley (1:06.21) for Golden West. Hagen and Saenz swam legs on the 400 medley and 400 freestyle relay, both of which won, for Golden West.
