Leslie’s Poolmart said that its preliminary figures showed a 32% jump in sales for its quarter that ended March 29.
Sales in the first quarter were $23.8 million, compared to $18.1 million a year ago.
The Chatsworth-based swimming pool supplies retailer also said that its same-store sales--those stores that were open a year ago--jumped by 21%.
And the company said that of the 25 new stores it plans to open this year, 20 have already opened.
The company is in the process of being acquired by an investment group led by Leslie’s chief executive, Brian McDermott.
