Dr. Arthur Kling; Educator, Head of Veterans Psychiatric Care

Dr. Arthur S. Kling, 67, medical educator and head of psychiatry services for veterans. Kling was a former professor and vice chairman of the psychiatry department at the UCLA School of Medicine. At UCLA, he participated in a key study of experimental drugs in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. Kling also headed psychiatry services at the Veterans Administration Medical Center. In that capacity, he presided over the hospital’s detoxification program for alcohol and drug abusers, among other psychiatric services. On March 28 in Los Angeles of cancer.
