Rancho Santiago Gets Around Saddleback, 2-0

Cari Remmel’s double in the second inning drove in both runs as Rancho Santiago defeated Saddleback, 2-0, in an Orange Empire Conference softball game Friday at Rancho Santiago.
Sheryl Anderson (15-10) pitched a two-hitter, striking out five and walking three for Rancho Santiago (20-15, 7-4).
In another Orange Empire Conference softball game:
Riverside 2, Irvine Valley 1--Jennifer Cessna pitched a one-hitter--a bunt single--and struck out seven for Irvine Valley (15-15, 1-10).
In the South Coast Conference men’s swimming:
Fullerton 66, Pasadena 12--Ben Darracq won the 200 individual medley and swam in the 400 medley relay and the 400 freestyle relay races for Fullerton (3-1).
Golden West 86, Long Beach 15--Albert and Felix Sutanto and Audy Oktavian, members of the Indonesian national team, each won two events for Golden West (4-0). Teammate Darin Smith won the 200 freestyle in 1:56.08.
In South Coast Conference women’s swimming:
Fullerton 83, Pasadena 23--Jamie Benson won the 200 freestyle, the 100 freestyle and the 500 freestyle for Fullerton (2-2).
In the Orange Empire Conference men’s volleyball:
Golden West 3, Irvine Valley 0--Evan Hook had 12 kills and Tim Holmes 10 to lead Golden West (15-1, 11-1), which won, 15-6, 15-7, 15-7. Chris Schay had 13 kills for Irvine Valley (3-11, 3-9).
Orange Coast 3, San Diego Mesa 0--Jason Klems had 10 kills and Josh Richardson added nine for Orange Coast (14-1, 12-1).
