Krewson’s Clout Lifts Simi Valley

Dave Krewson hit two home runs and drove in seven runs, including two on an eighth-inning triple that lifted Simi Valley High to a 12-9 victory over Channel Islands in a Marmonte League baseball game Friday at Channel Islands.
Krewson, who scored the Pioneers’ final run on a double by Andy Karp, had four hits and scored three runs.
Simi Valley (9-5, 3-1 in league play) tied the score, 9-9, with two out in the seventh when Andy Gerber singled, stole second and scored on a single by Todd Scherwin.
Channel Islands fell to 8-6, 1-3.
Agoura 4, Thousand Oaks 0--Kevin Cruz, David Turner and Chris Poling combined on a one-hitter for the Chargers (6-4, 2-2) in a Marmonte League game at Pepperdine.
Tom Fiore had a seventh-inning single for Thousand Oaks (6-6, 1-3).
Hueneme 3, Canyon Springs 2--Miguel Bravo singled in Jess Sanchez from second base with two out in the fifth to lift the Vikings (11-3) in the semifinals of the San Luis Obispo tournament. Hueneme will play El Segundo or San Luis Obispo in the final today at 4 p.m.
Pedro Cervantes (2-0) threw a four-hitter, striking out 10 and walking one.
Rio Mesa 14, Oxnard 4--Jake Kor (4-1) pitched a two-hitter, his third consecutive victory, for the Spartans (10-1, 4-1) in a Channel League game at Oxnard.
Kor allowed two earned runs, struck out five and walked five. Teammate Isaac Romero had two doubles and a triple.
Burroughs 8, Valencia 0--Wes Hutchinson pitched a two-hitter, striking out eight, for the Indians (8-4, 4-0) in a Foothill League game at Burroughs.
Mike Shamoon was three for three with two runs batted in and Tommy Perez had a two-run double for Burroughs.
Hart 12, Burbank 2--Justin Wiley (1-0) allowed three hits in six innings in his varsity debut and Eric Horvat had four hits, including a home run, and five RBIs for the Indians (9-6, 3-1) in a Foothill League game at Hart.
Saugus 6, Canyon 3--Josh Underwood had two hits, including a two-run home run in the sixth inning that gave the Centurions (6-7-1, 3-2) the lead for good in a Foothill League game at Canyon.
Justin Babin (2-1) pitched a two-hitter and struck out 11.
Antelope Valley 3, Highland 2--Hector Velez singled in Eric Mobley with two out in the seventh to lift the Antelopes (10-2, 2-0) in a Golden League game at Highland.
Glendale 6, Hoover 2--Ryan Noll broke a 2-2 tie in the top of the seventh with a two-run home run in a Pacific League game at Hoover. The Dynamiters (7-3, 2-3) scored six runs in the inning.
