Tugnutt Has Strong Vote

Ron Tugnutt thinks he knows a good team when he sees one. And right now, he votes for his fellow Ottawa Senators.
“Defensively, we’re playing as well as any team that I’ve been apart of,” said Tugnutt, a former Mighty Duck, who had his second consecutive shutout as the Senators beat the Washington Capitals, 4-0, Thursday at Ottowa.
Tugnutt shutout Buffalo Wednesday.
Edmonton 4, Chicago 2--The Oilers won for the first time at home over Chicago since 1992.
Mike Grier and Ryan Smyth had power-play goals for Edmonton.
Toronto 2, Detroit 2--Brendan Shanahan and Tim Taylor scored third-period goals for Detroit at home.
New York Islanders 5, St. Louis 5--New York’s Ziggy Palffy capped a three-goal third period when he stole the puck and scored with 1:54 left at St. Louis.
Pittsburgh 5, Hartford 5--Keith Primeau’s second goal rescued Hartford from a Penguin rally.
New York Rangers 5, Boston 4--Mark Messier scored a goal and assisted on two others for the Rangers at New York.
