Nude, Screaming Woman, 24, Arrested in Church
CHATSWORTH — A 24-year-old Chatsworth woman was arrested Sunday morning after she was found nude, screaming and throwing Bibles inside a church, police said.
Ilham Affane was arrested on suspicion of trespassing after Los Angeles police officers found her inside Immanuel Presbyterian Church at 10195 DeSoto Ave. Authorities took Affane to the Van Nuys jail.
Mike Partain, an LAPD spokesman, said neighbors heard screams from inside the church around 1:30 a.m. Sunday and notified police.
“When the officers arrived, they found Affane completely nude, jumping up and down on the pews, screaming, throwing Bibles around and generally acting in a bizarre manner,” Partain said.
Partain said there was no evidence of forced entry or excessive alcohol and drug use by Affane. Besides a broken fax machine that apparently was knocked over, there was minimal damage inside the church, he said.
Police said church officials told them Affane was not a member of their congregation.
