Anti-Gay-Bias Bill
* Re “Panel Approves Ban on Gay Bias in Schools,” March 19:
AB 101 is a censorship bill. It in part “1) Prohibits a teacher from giving instruction and a school district from sponsoring an activity that reflects adversely on persons because of their sexual orientation, 2) Prohibits the adoption of instructional materials that contain any matter that reflects adversely on persons because of sexual orientation, and 3) Requires the termination of donated school facilities if the donor organization denies use of the facility because of a person’s sexual orientation.”
The text directly implies that any person(s) or organization(s) with any opposing view to homosexuality would be not be tolerated. Ironically, this bill, which calls out for “tolerance,” is quite intolerant. It should be defeated.
