Harper, Holt, Callaway Make All-City 4-A Team
Carloes Harper of Canoga Park High, Donald Holt of Cleveland and Michael Callaway of Kennedy were among 16 players chosen to the All-City 4-A Division basketball team.
Kevin Bradley of Crenshaw, a 6-foot-1 senior, was selected the division’s most valuable player.
Four other players from the region also were selected to the All-City team by a panel of sportswriters.
Harper, a 6-4 swingman bound for Cal State Northridge, led all City players from the region with an average of 28.6 points a game.
Holt, a 6-4 senior forward, averaged 20.8 points, 11.6 rebounds and 4.8 assists.
Callaway, a 6-4 senior forward, averaged 19.4 points and 8.6 rebounds and helped the Golden Cougars to the quarterfinals of the 4-A playoffs.
Raymond Kizzee of Birmingham, Daron Wilson of Sylmar, Ellis Richardson of Poly and Elan Buller of El Camino Real were All-City in the 3-A Division.
Sam Espinoza of Bell, a 6-5 senior, was chosen most valuable player in the division.
Kizzee, a 6-5 senior forward, averaged 14.2 points and nine rebounds for the Braves, who won the North Valley League title and reached the semifinals of the playoffs.
Wilson, a 6-4 senior forward, averaged 16.2 points and 13.7 rebounds.
Richardson, a 6-3 junior swingman who suffered a severe ankle injury one week before the playoffs, averaged 18.3 points and 7.1 rebounds in 19 games.
Buller, a 5-10 senior guard, averaged 22.4 points, 4.7 assists and three steals for the Conquistadores.
