Quadruplets Born Against Long Odds

A 30-year-old woman beat the odds to give birth to identical quadruplet girls without using fertility drugs. “You probably have a better chance of winning the lottery,” said Dr. Gary Steinman, who delivered Iris Borges’ four daughters by Caesarean section at Long Island Jewish Medical Center on Friday. The infants, born seven weeks premature, weighed between 2 pounds, 1 ounce and 3 pounds, 3 ounces. Borges and the children were hospitalized in good condition.
