Orange County Pioneer Day, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the George Key Ranch, will give visitors a look at 19th-century life, including an open house at the century-old citrus operation.
Also featured will be music, a children’s program and demonstrations of wood carving and other crafts. Admission to the event is $3 for adults and $2 for children 12 and younger.
The ranch, at 625 W. Bastanchury Road, was part of the Rancho San Juan Cajon de Santa Ana land grant deeded to Juan Pacifico Ontiveros in 1837 by the Mexican governor of California. It totaled 35,970 acres and included what is now Placentia, Anaheim and Brea.
