La Canada Girl Swims to Title
Carly Geehr of La Canada finished first in the 200-yard breaststroke in the Speedo Short Course West Region Junior Championships on Wednesday in College Station, Texas.
Geehr, 12, finished in 2 minutes 15.34 seconds, a full second ahead of Sarah Agee of Woodland. Geehr’s time was fast enough to qualify for the senior national meet later this year.
Kenny Carpenter of La Crescenta finished fifth in the 200 butterfly in 1:50.13.
Both swimmers compete for Rose Bowl Aquatics.
