Bomb Trial Focuses on Potential Jurors

Hundreds of people crowded into an auditorium to record their views about the death penalty and their knowledge of the case as jury selection began for Oklahoma City bombing suspect Timothy J. McVeigh’s trial. Court officials said the questioning at the Jefferson County fairgrounds outside Denver, went smoothly. A federal judge issued an order barring participants from talking. About 1,000 questionnaires were sent out to 23 counties and about 500 people were expected to respond in preparation for McVeigh’s trial, which begins March 31.
