Two Longest Streaks May Be on the Line

The Ducks’ eight-game unbeaten streak--the longest in their history--is the second-longest current streak in the NHL.
Unless the Kings beat Detroit tonight at the Forum, there will be a matchup of the two longest current streaks Wednesday at the Pond.
The Red Wings are unbeaten in their last 10, including a 1-1 tie with the Ducks March 2 at Joe Louis Arena.
“It was nice to keep [the streak] going,” Anaheim Coach Ron Wilson said after the tie against Colorado. “We know we’ve got four games at home coming up. A tough one against Detroit, and then three teams below us in the standings we have to beat.”

Ken Baumgartner returned to the lineup after missing 11 games because of a broken hand, but was a forward instead of a defenseman. J.F. Jomphe scratched to make room for him.
