Ex-IRS Historian Rips Agency in Book

The Internal Revenue Service’s former historian says the agency mishandles, even destroys, important historical records. Law violations she alleges include the vandalizing of presidential tax returns by IRS employees seeking souvenirs. A new book by Shelley L. Davis comes amid continued attacks on the agency. Meanwhile, Rep. Billy Tauzin (R-La.) on “Fox News Sunday,” called for the agency’s dissolution and abolition of the income tax.
