Ruptured Pipe Shuts Boulevard
A bustling section of State College Boulevard was flooded Friday when a main ruptured, pushing water through the soil and asphalt, police said.
The main broke at State College and East Kimberly Avenue about 4 p.m., creating a hole as wide as a traffic lane, Fullerton Police Lt. Jeff Roop said.
“I am sure it’s a big wet hole in the ground,” he said. “The water was covering the entire street.”
No accidents or injuries were reported. State College was blocked between Kimberly and Valencia Drive for a quarter-mile.
Crews were making repairs Friday night. Police did not know when the street would reopen.
