In another Orange Empire conference baseball game:

Cypress 6, Orange Coast 4--Junior Rodriguez hit a two-run single in the seventh inning to break a 4-4 tie for host Cypress (17-4, 3-2). Matt Dempsey hit a two-run home run with two out in the sixth inning to tie it, 4-4. Tony Palazzolo (3-1) pitched 4 2/3 innings in relief to pick up the victory. He gave up no runs, three hits, and struck out six.

Craig Ritter of Orange Coast had a home run and stole a base and teammate Travis Clutter had two hits, a walk, scored a run and stole a base.

Riverside 7, Golden West 3--Charlie Tuggle was two for four for Golden West (9-10, 1-4).

In Orange Empire Conference women’s tennis:

Saddleback 8, Fullerton 1--Gabi Rios won her singles match, 6-0, 6-1, and teamed up with Noelle Saduddin to win, 6-3, 6-2, for Saddleback (6-2, 5-0).

Irvine Valley 8, Cypress 1--Jill Riley won her singles match, 6-0, 6-0, and Liz Shumaker won her match, 6-1, 6-0, for Irvine Valley (5-3, 4-1). The team of Riley and Shumaker also won its match, 6-0, 6-1. Jessica Lubman won the only match for Cypress, 6-3, 6-4.

Orange Coast 8, Riverside 1--Cami Erickson won at No. 1 singles, 6-0, 6-3, for host Orange Coast (8-1, 4-1). Erickson and Whitney Gilliam combined to win at No. 1 doubles, 6-0, 6-3, also for Orange Coast.

In Orange Empire Conference men’s tennis:

Orange Coast 8, Riverside 1--Clem Albrecht and Scott Stewart dropped their opening singles sets for Orange Coast, but each battled back for three-set victories.
