Trailer Park Rules

* I watched our City Council throw out fact after painstaking fact when it unanimously concluded that the residents of the Seal Beach Trailer Park were not entitled to the same rights and laws enforced throughout the rest of Seal Beach and Surfside (“Residents Riled by Trailer Park Building Limits,” March 3).
Only the residents of the trailer park are not allowed to build homes higher than 15 feet if their neighbor has built a two-story structure first. Never mind that the Fire Department has determined that the two-story cabanas are safer than the existing one-story dwellings, or that the two-story homes enhance the aesthetic quality of the park.
Nowhere else in the city does this restriction apply. How can one not conclude discrimination?
