Azusa Pacific Plans Job, Education Fair

Azusa Pacific University is holding a College and Career Fair on Saturday open to people of all ages throughout the San Gabriel Valley.
The fair is the first of what host Assemblyman Martin Gallegos (D-Baldwin Park) hopes will become an annual event to give the public more information about college and job opportunities, said a spokesperson for Gallegos’s office.
People seeking assistance with applications, financial aid and career planning will have the opportunity to speak with college and career advisors.
More than 350 people are expected to attend the workshops, exhibits and speeches by college and corporate officials, but Gallegos hopes to attract an even larger crowd.
Gallegos encouraged teachers to bring their students to the fair and asked additional colleges and large corporations to join the event.
“A career fair is only as successful as the people you assist,” Gallegos said.
“We want to reach as many students as possible to ensure that their questions are answered and their options are clear.”
Registration begins at 7:45 a.m., and the event is expected to end at 2 p.m.
