Yeltsin Calls Off Netherlands Trip

MOSCOW — President Boris N. Yeltsin called off a trip to the Netherlands on Monday, another sign that he is not recovering as quickly as expected from the pneumonia that hit him three weeks ago.
The trip next Tuesday to The Hague for talks with European Union leaders was seen as a major test of the state of Yeltsin’s health.
Prime Minister Viktor S. Chernomyrdin, meanwhile, sought to reassure foreign investors that Yeltsin is in charge of the country.
