Court Wants More Applicants for Grand Jury
The Orange County Superior Court is still accepting applications to serve on the 1997-98 Grand Jury.
More than 127 county residents have applied for posts on the 19-member panel, which hands down criminal indictments. But court officials said that they would like a broader selection and that the number is below the expected response rate.
The deadline to apply is Jan. 31. There will be an orientation class Feb. 6.
The upcoming Grand Jury term will be from July through June 1998.
Applications are available at the courthouse, 700 Civic Center Drive West, Santa Ana, in the jury commissioner’s office, Room A100, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Applications also are available by phone and on the Internet at https://www.oc.ca.gov/superior.
