Cooking Up a New Career After Football
Carolina Panthers’ nickel back Toi Cook sees his Internet website--a slick collection of diary entries, video highlights and sound bites--as merely a beginning.
Having grown up just over the hill from Hollywood, the Montclair Prep alumnus has his eye on a second career.
“I want to make movies,” the 10-year NFL veteran said. “I’m going to use the same mechanics I’ve learned in football and apply them to Hollywood.”
So, along with tons of football info, “Toi’s Cook Book, The Cyberspace Journal of a Professional Football Player” (https://www.bltpro.com/cook-book) features some industry gab. The weekly entries sometimes touch upon entertainment issues. The “What’s Toi Watching?” section includes movie and television reviews.
“During the season, when we go on road trips, there’s not a lot of time to get out of the hotel room,” he explained. “I usually catch up on movies, videos and shows during those times. There’s nothing like a hotel movie and room service.”

CHILD’S PLAY: Toi’s Cook Book webpage doesn’t offer much in the way of edgy analysis but its amusing tidbits on the Panters’ Cinderella season are a lot of fun. The Hot Corner, C2
