Home-Health Group Appoints President
Sherman Oaks resident W. June Simmons, formerly chief operating officer of the Visiting Nurse Assn. of Los Angeles, has been appointed its president and chief executive officer, according to board Chairman Robert Klein.
VNA-LA bills itself as the state’s largest home-health agency and the leading provider of home-health visits in Southern California.
“In an increasingly competitive environment, we intend to remain the foremost home-health agency in the state,” Simmons said.
VNA-LA’s 1,000 employees make more than 375,000 visits to a variety of patients each year. The nonprofit agency was founded in 1939 and offers charitable care for patients with limited means.
Simmons joined VNA-LA in 1993 after serving on its board of directors. As an administrator at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, she founded and directed its Senior Care Network. A graduate of Occidental College, Simmons earned a master’s degree in social work from USC.
