Chance for Tkachuk to Shine

Phoenix captain Keith Tkachuk will replace injured Mike Modano of Dallas on the Western Conference team for the All-Star game. Modano suffered a slight knee sprain in Tuesday’s game against Pittsburgh, but he will not miss any of the Stars’ games. Additionally, Scott Lachance of the New York Islanders was picked to replace teammate Zigmund Palffy on the Eastern Conference squad. Palffy has an injured shoulder. . . . Tampa Bay goaltender Daren Puppa, who had surgery for a herniated disk Nov. 11, has resumed light skating and said he could rejoin the team in the next three to four weeks.
