Jennings Parrott, 77, former copy editor and columnist for The Times. Parrott, who retired in 1986, had for many years assembled a column called “Newsmakers,” featuring brief items about celebrities. He worked for The Times for 18 years. Before that, Parrott was a travel editor for the Paris Herald-Tribune. On Dec. 29 in Los Angeles of Alzheimer’s disease.
