Gov. Pete Wilson has appointed two San Fernando Valley residents to the 51st District Agricultural Assn., the organizing body of the Valley Fair.

David Honda and Robert Scott will serve four-year terms on the nine-member board, said fair spokesman Vincent Maffei.

“Bob and David’s commitment to the San Fernando Valley is evident from the long list of organizations they have worked with,” said board President Jane Boeckmann.

Since 1980, Honda has served as president of D.S. Honda Construction Inc. of Van Nuys. His interior designs are seen in buildings including the Directors Guild of America offices and the Special Olympics Archery Range Complexes in Rancho Park and Woodley Park.

Scott, a 50-year Valley resident, heads the Sherman Oaks law firm of Scott and Associates and is president of the Los Angeles Planning Commission. He played a key role in the establishment of the Economic Alliance of the San Fernando Valley.

The fair board--one of 54 such bodies in the state--sets all policy for the event. Recently, the board decided to move the dates of the fair from late July to early June. This year’s 51st annual fair is scheduled for June 5 to 8.
