Reward Offered in Woman’s Slaying

Councilmen Joel Wachs and Richard Alarcon announced a $25,000 reward Wednesday for information leading to the arrest of the person or persons who killed a Pacoima mother of three.
Irma Martinez, 32, was found dead inside her 1992 Dodge Caravan minivan Nov. 19.
Martinez, whose van was parked in the 11100 block of Borden Avenue, had been attending classes in Catholicism in preparation for marrying her longtime husband in a traditional Catholic ceremony.
In conjunction with Los Angeles police detectives, Alarcon and Wachs announced the award in hopes that someone will provide clues.
Police asked the council for help after exhausting all their leads.
Her husband, Remberto Martinez Jr., reported Martinez missing after she left to visit a friend in Sylmar and never returned.
