An unemployed Camarillo man was arrested this week on suspicion of robbing banks in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties, officials said Thursday.
Authorities arrested Gary Eugene McIntosh, 36, on New Year’s Eve after receiving a number of tips. People had allegedly recognized him from a photograph that appeared on a local television station of a man who robbed a Santa Barbara bank earlier that day.
McIntosh is alleged to have robbed the American Savings Bank at 1330 State St. in Santa Barbara on Dec. 31, as well as the Bank of America at 5800 Santa Rosa Road in Camarillo on Dec. 23, according to FBI officials.
McIntosh is being held at the Ventura County Jail, officials said.
