When Jerry Mathers wanted career advice, he didn’t simply leave it to Beaver.
The star of the late-1950s television show has contracted with McInerney Management, a San Juan Capistrano-based public relations and personal management firm, to work on the upcoming 40th anniversary of the “Leave It to Beaver” show.
As part of the 40th anniversary celebration in 1997, Mathers is writing an autobiography to be published by Putnam & Co. MCA Universal will open a motion picture based on the “Leave It to Beaver” theme, and plans to start selling Beaver memorabilia at stores around the country.
