Johnny Heartsman, 59, an internationally known blues guitarist. He was one of this country’s best studio and backup musicians, playing with such legends as Jimmy McCracklin, Willa Mae “Big Mama” Thorton and “Little Willie” Littlefield. He became widely known as a guitar soloist and leader of his own bands, Nightfeast and Johnny Heartsman and His Band. His recordings include “The Touch” and “Johnny Heartsman: Still Shinin’ Live in Germany.” On Dec. 25 in Sacramento.
