Parade of Storms Expected

The parade continues.
And we’re not talking floats and flowers.
“We’re having a parade of storms,” said Jon Erdman, a meteorologist with WeatherData Inc. “They line up in the Pacific and crash onshore every couple days.”
So the Rose Parade may be over, but the rain remains. Forecasters expect a 30% chance of showers in the San Fernando Valley today, increasing to a 40% chance by tonight. Friday is expected to be cloudy with a 30% chance of showers, according to the National Weather Service. Highs will only reach the mid-60s both days with lows in the 50s, the weather service reported.
“It definitely won’t be a steady rain, just some hit-and-miss showers,” Erdman said.
While the rainy weather isn’t unusual--meteorologists say this is the rainy season, after all--what is unusual is the frequency of the storms.
“It seems like every couple days another one hits,” Erdman said, “We’ve gone so long between dry spells.”
But there was a brief respite during the Rose Parade--which Erdman did not try to explain as some atmospheric phenomenon.
“Must be some divine power,” he said, dryly.
