Indiana’s Smith Jumping to the NFL
Indiana tailback Alex Smith, the nation’s 11th-leading rusher, is passing up his final year of eligibility to make himself eligible for the NFL draft.
Smith rushed for 1,248 yards this season, giving him 3,492 for his career.

Nebraska linebacker Terrell Farley was charged with seven misdemeanors in connection with his arrest last week on suspicion of drunken driving and resisting arrest.
Coach Tom Osborne suspended the second team All-American immediately after the incident last Wednesday, and indicated that Farley would not play for Nebraska again.
Farley, 21, was charged Monday with drunken driving, refusal to submit to a chemical test, driving under a suspended license, leaving the scene of a property damage accident, speeding, resisting arrest and refusing to obey an order from a police officer.
