Canoga Park 35, Belmont 7--With the score tied, 7-7, in the third quarter, top-seeded Canoga Park scored 28 unanswered points in a game on its home field.
Junior Galvan led the Hunters (7-4), rushing for 115 yards in 18 carries and scoring three touchdowns--on runs of two, two and 22 yards. Galvan also passed for a touchdown, connecting with Kevin Carlsen on a four-yard play.
Carlsen scored two touchdowns, the other on a 73-yard return of an interception in the fourth quarter.
Brian Hickman completed eight of 15 passes for 99 yards. He also connected with Carlsen on a two-point conversion pass.
Belmont (3-8) was hampered by errors. Quarterback Willie Oceguera had three passes intercepted, one of which was returned for a touchdown and another that led to a two-yard scoring run by Galvan.
