Walk Seeks to Raise Funds to Fight Hunger
To promote awareness of hunger in the area, a coalition of churches is sponsoring the eighth annual “Hunger Walk Sunday” this weekend.
Residents may take part in the 7-kilometer walk, which will start at 2 p.m. at the San Clemente Community Center.
Organizers said they hope to attract 300 walkers and raise $10,000. Proceeds will go to the Ecumenical Services Alliance, which distributes food to the poor.
Registration will begin at 1 p.m. at the community center, 100 N. Calle Seville at Avenida Del Mar. Information: (714) 492-2537.
