* The matchup: St. John Bosco assured there would be a new champion in the Southern Section’s Del Rey League by defeating La Puente Bishop Amat, 42-37, last Friday. Bishop Amat had won or shared the league title the last 11 years. Shane Minton rushed for 140 yards and two touchdowns in 10 carries as St. John Bosco beat the Lancers for the first time since 1974. The Braves have won eight games in a row since tying Eisenhower in their opener. They face a Loyola team that has won its four league games by an average of 23 points. The Cubs have won four in a row since losing their final nonleague game to Newhall Hart, 24-10. They feature a balanced running attack with Stephen Faulk (797 yards, 14 touchdowns) and Wesley Willard (784 yards, seven touchdowns) splitting duties. Ray Kasper has thrown only 93 passes, completing 46 for 733 yards and five touchdowns.
