Tony Walker
SCHOOL: Antelope Valley
SPORT: Football
YEAR: Senior
SEASON AT A GLANCE: A three-year, two-way starter with breakaway potential, Walker has been slowed by double coverages. Defenses find it easier to key on Walker now that Jermaine Lewis, who rushed for more than 2,500 yards last season, has moved on to UCLA. But Walker still leads the Antelopes in rushing with 830 yards and nine touchdowns, and he ranks second in the league in scoring with 11 touchdowns and 68 points. He also has 13 receptions for 237 yards and two scores as well as three interceptions.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Walker dominated a crucial 22-14 victory over Palmdale. He rushed for 59 yards, caught three passes for 72 yards and scored both of his team’s touchdowns. He had nine tackles and his interception of Jeremy Coleman’s pass on the second play of the third quarter led to a field goal. Walker also caused and recovered a Jason Anderson fumble in the fourth quarter to stymie a Palmdale comeback.
