Fitch Feels Fine, Especially Winning

Clipper Coach Bill Fitch, who underwent an emergency triple bypass after suffering a heart attack last August, was examined by team physicians after last Sunday’s 81-70 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
“I don’t want to take time to go down there [to the doctor’s office] if there’s nothing wrong with me,” Fitch said.
Fitch said he checks his blood pressure and heart rate before and after every game.
“My pulse rate and my blood pressure has been excellent,” said Fitch, 61 who altered his diet and went on an exercise program.
“If it’s in a little can or a little sack or a little box I don’t eat it,” Fitch said.
