Cedric Firth; 21-Year Resident of County

Cedric Firth, a resident of Ventura County for 21 years, died Monday at Ventura’s Community Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was 84.
He was born July 1, 1912, in Canada.
During World War II Firth worked for McDonnell Douglas, where he assisted in installing the engines on President Franklin D. Roosevelt’s airplane.
He became a purchasing agent for heating and air-conditioning company E.L. Payne and moved to Ojai from Westwood Village upon his retirement in 1975.
Firth was a 50-year Elks Lodge member and enjoyed photography and traveling.
He is survived by his wife, Cecilia W. Firth of Ojai, a niece and a nephew.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Clausen Funeral Home in Ojai.
Private inurnment will be at Oakwood cemetery in Santa Cruz.
