NORTHRIDGE — A 4-year-old girl suffered a broken leg when she was struck by a car Thursday while trick-or-treating, authorities said.
The accident occurred about 7:20 p.m. in the 19100 block of Bryant Street near Beckford Avenue, said Brian Humphrey, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Neither the driver of the car nor the girl’s mother, who was with her daughter, were hurt, Humphrey said.
The girl was taken to Northridge Hospital Medical Center.
“This young lady was very fortunate,” Humphrey said. “Halloween can be a very dangerous night for children, who often run out in front of cars.”
The accident was under investigation, said officers with the Los Angeles Police Department Valley Traffic Division.
