Glendora 30, Buena Park 7--Glendora came back from a 7-3 deficit at halftime and scored 27 consecutive points to defeat host Buena Park.
Brent Frahm led the charge for the Tartans (2-1), rushing for 186 yards in 17 carries and three touchdowns.
Frahm’s first score came on a 33-yard run, in which he broke two Coyote tackles, giving the Tartans a 9-7 lead halfway through the third quarter.
Buena Park’s Brett Strike returned the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown, but had the play called back for holding.
The Coyotes (1-2) were flagged for 85 yards in penalties, the Tartans had 136 yards in penalties.
Even though his team won, Day wasn’t pleased with his team’s first-half performance.
The Tartans scored first, on a 32-yard field goal by Matthew Staat, with five minutes left in the first quarter.
Buena Park’s only score came on a one-yard touchdown pass from Ruben Gasso to Strike in the second quarter.
