Newcomer Changes Name to Synthonics Technologies
Columbine Financial Corp., a Utah corporation that has just moved to Westlake Village, has changed its name to Synthonics Technologies Inc.
Columbine’s new name is intended to more closely identify the holding company with its new Synthonics Inc. subsidiary, which develops and licenses advanced three-dimensional virtual-reality imaging technology for use in personal computer and Internet applications.
Officials said the new name also is in keeping with the company’s stated purpose of concentrating its efforts on digital image creation technologies. The company’s market symbol remains the same.
The new address for both Synthonics Technologies and its wholly owned subsidiary is 31324 Via Colinas, Suite 106, in Westlake Village. The two companies merged last year.
Synthonics has developed and licenses “Rapid Virtual Reality,” which allows software developers to re-create on personal computer screens complete three-dimensional photo-realistic models of anything that can be photographed.
