Two Shot During Gang-Related Car Chase

WESTMINSTER — Two young men were shot and wounded early Sunday during a gang-related car chase that ended in a collision, police said.
Phong D. Ho, 24, of Fontana was shot in the face, and Lam B. Pham, 22, of Ontario, in the back, as two vehicles drove south on Beach Boulevard from Stanton into Westminster.
Ho was in guarded condition at UCI Medical Center in Orange late Sunday, according to a nursing supervisor. Pham was treated and released.
The collision occurred about 1:15 a.m. on Garden Grove Boulevard, east of Bolsa Chica Road.
Five men were in the car that was being chased, police said. The victims and the suspects in the shooting had gang ties, authorities said.
