An Extension Cord for Disney Parade
Disneyland will officially pull the plug on its venerable Main Street Electrical Parade on Oct. 15, but like the Energizer Bunny the thing just keeps on going.
Annual pass-holders willing to shell out an additional $25 can catch two more performances Oct. 17 at a special goodbye celebration that will give them the run of park from 8:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. The following evening, the parade will make yet another run down Main Street at a private party for Saturn Corp.
Like any aging diva, the Blue Fairy just can’t resist an encore. But Disneyland spokesman Tom Brocato says the Oct. 18 event definitely will be her last hurrah.
Disneyland is selling bulbs from the parade at $10 a pop to raise money for local children’s charities. Brocato says park employees need to get a move on tearing down the floats, salvaging the bulbs and repackaging them in time for holiday delivery.
