Restaurant Guard Slain by Gunman in Ambush
An armed guard at a Los Angeles taco stand was gunned down when a man walked up to him, opened fire several times without any apparent provocation, and then fled with the guard’s gun, police said Friday.
Rutilo Diaz Duque, 44, was pronounced dead at the scene after the 11:35 p.m. ambush Thursday in front of Tacos El Unicoon West Manchester Avenue, said Det. Richard Marks.
Police say they do not know the motive. “There was no demand for money, no nothing,” Marks said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call South Bureau Homicide of the Los Angeles Police Department at (213) 237-1310 or (213) 485-2504.
