Job Fair to Be Held at Sylvan Elementary

Four job placement agencies and Los Angeles City Councilman Marvin Braude will sponsor a job training and placement fair today at Sylvan Elementary School in Van Nuys.
Applicants with valid work permits can apply for permanent and part-time jobs as drivers, office clerks, stock clerks, machine operators, assembly workers, retail clerks and receptionists. The four agencies participating in the fair are Assert Inc., Build Rehabilitation Industries, New Directions for Youth and the California Employment Development Department.
The job fair will also feature several community service agencies that will provide information and emergency services such as distribution of clothing and food.
Today’s fair will be open from 3 to 6 p.m. at Sylvan Elementary, at Victory Boulevard and Noble Avenue in Van Nuys. Parking will be available in the Costco parking lot.
