They Paint a Nicer Picture With Crayon
Bruce Jagarosovich blasted Times handicapper Curtis Crayon [Viewpoint, Aug. 17] and chastised him for picking Siphon as his best bet over Cigar in the Pacific Classic. So I turned to today’s charts, and again all the handicappers’ best bet of the day was in the feature race, Lit De Justice, except for Curtis Crayon, whose best bet was Alphabet Soup. The things that make you go hmmm. Anyway, Alphabet Soup wins and pays $12.40. I’ve got a pocketful of money and a renewed outlook that it’s the common herd like Bruce Jagarosovich that makes Saturday night so special for me. Curtis, this Bud’s for you.

Since the writer acknowledged not being an expert handicapper, I direct his attention to the tote board, which shows you who the race favorite is, thus saving him the time of reading Bob Mieszerski’s selections. For my money, keep the Crayon and scratch the Chalk.
